The following terms and conditions relate to all reservations and other transactions made with the company (Hazlitt’s Hotels Limited).

2) RESERVATION, CANCELLATION AND NON-ARRIVAL POLICY

Guarantee

Reservations must be guaranteed at the time of booking by one of the following;

– Credit card

– Debit card

– Prepaid deposit (including cash and bank transfer)

– Pre -approved travel agent – IATA

– Pre -approved corporate credit facility 

 

Cancellation or Non-arrival

The following cancellation rules apply.

a) Individual reservations

We operate a 48-hour cancellation policy. Any amendment, cancellation or non-arrival made after 12.00pm (hotel time) 2 days prior to the date of stay will be subject to a one-night charge being made against the card provided.

b) Group reservations (5 rooms or more)

We operate a 7 day cancellation policy.  Any non-arrival, amendment or cancellation made after 12.00pm (hotel time), 7 days prior to the date of arrival will be subject to the full charge of the entire pre booked stay. 

c) Longer length of stay reservations (7 nights or more)

We operate a 7 day cancellation policy on longer length of stay reservations. Any non-arrival, amendment or cancellation made after 12.00pm (hotel time), 7 days prior to the date of stay will be subject to the full charge of the first 7 nights.

d) Non - Refundable rates & Advance Purchase 

For room reservations made using the non-refundable or advance purchase promotion. Full payment will be taken at the time of making the booking. This payment is non-refundable or transferable in the event of any amendment or cancellation.

Room availability

Reserved rooms are available to the guest from 3.00pm on the arrival date.  Rooms must be vacated no later than 12.00pm on the day of departure.  Additional charges of up to 100% will be applied for late departures unless a late check out has been pre-arranged. We regret that specific rooms mentioned by name or colour cannot be guaranteed

 

Rates

Rates are in pound sterling and are inclusive of VAT unless otherwise stipulated at the time of booking.

Published rates may be modified at any time. Changes will not apply to existing reservations save where applicable taxes are modified by law.

3) TERMS OF PAYMENT

Guarantee

All reservations require a guarantee or deposit in lieu. Guaranteed reservations are held until 12:00pm on the day after scheduled arrival.

Payment methods

Invoice facilities are only available to pre-approved companies. Our payment terms are 30 days.

a) Credit Card

A valid credit card displaying the guest name must be presented on arrival.  A pre-authorisation for the full amount of any pre booked services plus £70.00 per night will be taken on arrival.

A payment will be taken on departure, or when the pre-authorised amount has been reached or after 7 nights’ stay, whichever occurs first.

The hotel reserves the right to take additional pre-authorisation as required.

b) Debit Card

A valid debit card displaying the guest name must be presented on arrival. A payment will be taken on arrival for the full amount of any pre booked services.

A payment for any additional charges incurred must be settled prior to departure.

c) Cash

d) Bank transfer

Payment must be cleared into our account 24 hours prior to the date of arrival.  A credit or debit card will be required on arrival to cover any additional costs

 

4) GENERAL TERMS

Additional guests

Persons under the age of 18 may not check into Batty Langley's unless accompanied by an adult. 

Occupancy of the room is limited to the pre-booked number of persons.

Up to 2 children (aged to 12 years) will be accommodated free of charge when sharing a room with an adult in applicable room categories only.

Extra beds

Extra beds and baby cots are available on request, the following charges will be applied:

Up to 2 children will be accommodated free of charge when sharing a room with an adult, specific rooms only.

For persons aged 13 years and above, extra beds will be charged at the rate of £45.00

Sale of Alcohol

It is illegal to sell alcohol to any person under the age of 18. People who appear to be younger than 21 years of age will be asked to prove they are over 18.

Service Animals and Dog Policy

Animals are not accepted unless assisting guests with disabilities in which case the animals are accommodated free of charge.

Smoking Policy

In accordance with the Smoke Free Regulations 2007, smoking is not permitted within our hotels.  Ash trays are provided in external smoking areas as applicable.  If you smoke in your bedroom you will be charged an additional fee, equivalent to 1 nights’ accommodation rate, to cover additional cleaning costs.

Behaviour and Conduct

Reasonable behaviour is expected at all times; unreasonable behaviour will not be tolerated.  Management reserve the right to cancel your booking at any time if any person or group who, in the opinion of management, behaves in an objectionable manner or contravenes the company’s terms and conditions and there will be no refunds made for payments already received.  

 

Damage or loss to hotel property

You will be charged for any damage or losses caused by you or your guests to any company property or any additional cleaning or repairs required as a result of your actions during your stay.

 

CCTV

CCTV is in operation for security and service provision.  For further information regarding the hotel CCTV - applications should be made to the Hotel Manager.

 

Event bookings

Event bookings are subject to separate terms and conditions which the Hotel will communicate to you prior to the time of booking.

Loss of or damage to personal belongings

The Hotel will not be responsible for the loss or damage of the clients' or guests' belongings that have not been left in the mutually agreed care of the Hotel Management.

Under the Hotel Proprietors Act 1956, an hotel proprietor may in certain circumstances be liable to make good any loss of or damage to a guest’s property even though it was not due to any fault of the proprietor or staff of the hotel.

This liability however—

a) extends only to the property of guests who have engaged sleeping accommodation at the hotel;

b) is limited to £50 for any one article and a total of £100 in the case of any one guest, except in the case of property which has been deposited, or offered for deposit, for safe custody;

c) does not cover motor-cars or other vehicles of any kind or any property left in them, or horses or other live animals.

This notice does not constitute an admission either that the Act applies to this hotel or that liability thereunder attaches to the proprietor of this hotel in any particular case.

5) USE OF THE WEBSITE

The use of this website is restricted to people over the age of 18.

All information provided by you in connection with the use of this website, particularly but not limited to the purpose of booking, shall be true and accurate and may be relied upon as such.

The web booking service is operated by MEWS SYSTEMS, B.V., Business ID NL856548327B01, with its registered office at Herengracht 372, Amsterdam, CH 1016, The Netherlands („MEWS“). Except specifically stipulated otherwise (Article VI), nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall be construed so that MEWS is considered as an agent or intermediary with respect to your contract with the Hotel, usage of web booking service or has any other obligations whatsoever to you or any other third party.

By making your purchase through our online booking engine, you are protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, utilised by most popular browsers including Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. Through encryption, the personal information you enter, including your name, address and credit card information, is converted into code that is then securely dispatched over the internet.

Liability

Neither the Hotel nor MEWS provide any guarantee regarding the site and its contents. You are solely responsible for your use thereof.

Site operation

Neither the Hotel nor MEWS shall be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential losses or damage (including without limitation loss of revenue, loss of goodwill, loss of reputation and loss of, or damage of data), arising out of this site or the use thereof, or any errors, inaccuracies, omissions in the services or contents provided howsoever caused.

Intellectual property rights

MEWS holds all intellectual property rights in this web booking service and Hazlitt’s Hotels Limited is its permitted user.  Hazlitt’s Hotel’s Limited is the sole owner, licensee and permitted user in respect of any contents and materials published on this site. All works (site and its contents) are protected by copyright and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.

You may use this site and its contents solely for personal, non-commercial and private use subject to applicable copyright laws. You must not use any part of the site without obtaining a licence to do so from MEWS or its contents from the Hotel or, as the case may be, any other authorised licensor.

You must not copy, display, modify, download, reproduce or transfer to any third party any part of the contents or material on this site without being granted a permission to do so.

Nothing contained on this site should be construed as granting to you or to anyone else any license or right to use any of trademarks or other intellectual property of Hazlitt’s Hotels Limited or MEWS (the “IP”) and you may also not use any meta-tags or other hidden text utilising the IP.

 

6) DATA PROTECTION

Your personal information refers to the data obtained from you in connection with the service provided.  Your privacy is important to us and we promise to respect your personal information.

Information is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and we will do our best to ensure that your details are accurate and up to date.

We will use your personal information for the following reasons so that we can provide you with a first class service.

– To confirm, update and improve customer records

– Identify and inform you of services that may be of interest

– Analyse and develop a relationship with you

Personal information you supply us with and the information about your use of services will only be used by Hazlitt’s Hotels Limited to tell you by letter, telephone or email about services that may be of interest to you.  Your personal information will not be disclosed to any third party.

By using this website you are granting your consent to MEWS to process your personal data which you will provide to the reservation form via your MEWS account for the purpose of your reservation and/or accommodation.

You will have the opportunity to sign up and create your own account in MEWS hoteling system and be able to utilise services of MEWS network. If you sign up, you also grant your consent to MEWS to process your data for the purposes and under the terms of MEWS Privacy Policy.

 

7) FORCE MAJEURE

Neither the Hazlitt’s Hotel’s Limited nor MEWS can accept any liability or pay any compensation (other than to refund monies paid for services not yet rendered), or will be in breach of these terms, or liable for any failure to perform any of our obligations under them, if they are unable to perform those obligations due to any adverse event, act, or omission beyond our reasonable control and not caused by us, including (but not limited to) natural disasters, acts of terrorism, civil unrest, industrial disputes, or failure of utility services.

 

8) LIABILITY LIMITATIONS

Total liability of the Hazlitt’s Hotels Limited to you for any loss shall not exceed the amount you have paid to the Hotel in connection with your booking as at the time the loss arises. We shall not be liable for (1) any loss not caused by Hotel’s breach of contract, breach of statutory duty or negligence, (2) any indirect or consequential loss, or (3) any loss caused by you or any member of your group. Nothing in these terms shall operate to limit or exclude Hotel’s liability for fraud or death or personal injury or any other matter which we cannot limit or exclude by law. The Hotel reserves the right to cancel any event where it reasonably considers it could damage its reputation and in such instances no refund will be given. You shall be responsible for the orderly conduct of you and your guests and shall at all times not cause breach of Hotel’s policies or any applicable law or cause nuisance to other Hotel guests. You shall reimburse the Hotel in full for any loss or damage caused to the Hotel or any interruption to our business through your acts and omissions or those of the members of your group, whether by negligence or otherwise, and we reserve the right to charge your credit or debit card for any such amounts.

 
9) MISCELLANEOUS
 

These terms and conditions may be updated or changed from time to time and shall be fully effective after their publication on the site. If these terms are amended after you have made a reservation and shall affect your contact to the Hotel in terms of taxes or other changes arising out of local laws, you will be notified thereof via an electronic contact you have provided within the registration process.

 

10) LAW AND JURISDICTION

This contract shall be governed and construed by the law of England and you and we agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of England.
